UMLC Small projects fund
Background:
Over the past few years the Upper Murrumbidgee Landcare Committee has accumulated a small uncommitted parcel of funds. The Committee has decided that rather than retain these funds indefinitely a proportion should be made available to Landcare Groups for small projects that may not be eligible for funding from other sources.
Access and Eligibility
UMLC will accept proposals at any time but consideration of proposals will cease when the available funds are committed. Only Landcare Groups in the Upper Murrumbidgee catchment above the ACT are eligible to apply for funding. Individuals are unable to apply, but are encouraged to apply through their Landcare groups.
Only one application per Landcare Group may be submitted.
Funding Limits
Funding for projects is limited to $2,000 (exclusive of GST). Matched cash or in-kind contributions are desirable and the extent of these commitments to the project will be viewed favourably in assessing projects.
Funding Applications
The attached form is to be used for applications.
Eligible Projects
Projects that will be considered for funding include:
- Noxious weed control
- Surveys of flora and/or fauna in the Upper Murrumbidgee catchment
above the ACT - Native tree planting
- Workshops or field demonstrations
- Educational activities
Other proposals will be considered on merit by the UMLC.
Ineligible Projects
Projects will not be considered for funding that:
- involve reimbursement for completed activities;
- relate to on-going running costs of an organisation;
- are proposed by a Group with an overdue acquittal for projects or
programs funded from the NHT, NAP or CfoC funded programs. - relate to proposals that are for equipment items only. Small items
of equipment which are essential for a project under this Fund
however may be considered.

African love grass is a significant weed. It has spread rapidly and has the potential to invade the whole of south eastern Australia.
